Educational Qualification
- Minimum: Passed Class 12 / 10+2 Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) as core subjects
- Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate in PCM subjects in Class 12
- JEE Mains 2026: Must have appeared in JEE Mains 2026 (a valid score is mandatory — no minimum cut-off for initial shortlisting)
- Candidates appearing in Class 12 exams in 2026 are eligible — result must be declared before SSB

Selection Process
- Online Application: Apply at joinindianarmy.nic.in by 12 June 2026
- Shortlisting: Based on JEE Mains 2026 score — top candidates invited for SSB
- SSB Interview (5 Days): Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test + Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT); Stage II: Psychological tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, Personal Interview, and Conference
- Medical Examination: Comprehensive medical fitness test by an Army Medical Board — eyesight, physical fitness, and medical history
- Merit List & Allocation: Final merit list combining JEE score + SSB score → allocation to training institution

Training & Career Path
- Allocated to one of: IMA Dehradun, CME Pune, MCTE Mhow, or MCEME Secunderabad based on merit
- 4-year technical training leading to B.Tech degree from GGSIPU / JNU / DIAT as applicable
- On successful completion: Commissioned as Lieutenant in a technical arm (Corps of Engineers / Signals / EME)
- Short Service Commission (SSC) – 14 years; option to apply for Permanent Commission (PC) after year 5
